This is the first fifty years of Mason's rich life. He grew up in Derbyshire (beautifully described), went on to Oxford and joined the Indian Civil Service where he spent years in remote Himalayas. He has published several books under the pseudonym Philip Woodruff and under his name. With many illustrations.
