SIGNED and INSCRIBED to a friend (a fellow psychiatrist) by the author. The author calls psychiatry "the retarded child of medicine". He was a very well respected doctor and surgeon, with a broad practice on several continents. The author's thesis is that every function of the human body has an underlying structure. If the brain or nervous system fucntion badly, we should look for a structural explanation, and not content ouselves with psychiatric metaphysics.The dustjacket is worn but the book is tight and clean and very good.
